Home in time to celebrate the nation
Ah… the sweet smell of SG’s air. The soft caress of my faithful bed. It’s good to be home.
As I watched the NDP on tv, I teared a little, as always. I’m sentimental like that. I’m easily satisfied by whatever security anything brings me, or maybe I haven’t experience the inadequacies others have felt with the country. Sure there are times I complain, but I complain about everything, it’s insignificant.
I spent S$300 in Bangkok. I gotta tell you, things are really cheap. But that depends if you really need them. Nonetheless, people flock to Bangkok whether they are Sgreans, Japanese or Hongkongers. We even spotted Daniel Ong (Perfect 10 DJ) at MBK.
I’d like to think that I’m pampered by the lifestyle in SG because I feel uncomfortable surrounded by the dreariness and poverty there. Maybe because of the language and cultural barriers, I feel wary and suspicious and helpless. Whatever it is, I’m glad I made the trip there. At the moment, I have no intentions of going back there again. But who knows, the shopping bug might just bite me on my ass and make me eat my words.
